Carlton Club is an incredible community hub based in Whalley Range.

For ease of access, you can collect your veggies from our wooden locker box in the car park: access is available for 24hours meaning you can swing by after work on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Please note that the earlier you collect the fresher your veg will be!

Located on Carlton Road, you will find the wooden locker box in the car park of the Carlton Club. Look out for the locker box on your left.

Please note that outside of Carlton Club operating hours the car park will be closed- you can still access the locker box as a pedestrian via the walkway to the side of the carpark. Please note that wheelchair access will be limited to the times when the gates are open.

Platt Fields Market Garden is a community garden in the centre of Fallowfield run by Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD) and part of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Network. They not only grow fruit and vegetables organically, supplying this to local businesses, but also run numerous community events throughout the year, host workshops and events with other local organisations and host many volunteer opportunities. In fact, every Friday they have a volunteer session you can get involved in while collecting your veg bag. Their onsite cafe is also well worth a visit when you’re picking up your veg, serving up barista coffees, soups, sandwiches and delicious bakes, with as much of their own produce as possible.

You can collect your bag from our veg shed, just to your left as you go through the main entrance from the Platt Fields park (next to the car park).

Chai Village is an independent cafe located at the top of the high street in Romiley, serving delicious vegetarian and vegan South Indian-inspired breakfasts, brunches, lunches, specialty drinks and locally made cakes. Enjoy great food to go, or take some time to relax and soak up the atmosphere in the bright and welcoming cafe when you pop in to pick up your veg bag!

Collect your bag by giving your name to a member of staff at the counter. Please be aware that the collection point is unable to refrigerate your fruit and veg, so it's best to aim to collect on Thursday to ensure your veg is as fresh as possible!

Lentils and Lather is an ethical and environmentally friendly shop stocking bulk foods, toiletries and household cleaning products for you to take-away in reusable containers, doing away with the need for single-use plastics. As well as the household essentials they stock a range of fresh products, coffee, vegan chocolate and ethical gifts sourced from independent, local makers wherever possible. When you go to collect your bag don’t forget to bring your reusable containers so you can pick up some ingredients to cook alongside your veg!

FEED General Store is a cafe/restaurant serving up delicious breakfast, brunches and Sunday lunches made using the best organic, local and seasonal produce available. They also stock a range of locally-made gifts, groceries, speciality coffees and fresh sourdough bread for you to browse as you collect your coffee. This is a great hub within the local community, hosting various evening and daytime events you can get involved with. Check these out over a coffee when you go to collect your veg!

Kindling Market Garden is an organic growing site run by the Kindling Trust. It is host to the Woodbank Community Gardeners, and multiple community events and volunteering opportunities throughout the year. Produce from Kindling Market garden is used in our veg bags throughout the year, as well as being supplied to the University of Manchester’s catering team and other businesses in the city. Throughout spring to autumn the community growers host a stall every Thursday selling their produce, including chutneys and jams, which you can check out when you collect your bag.

Collect your veg bag from the dedicated Veg Box cupboards outside the site cabin to your right as you come through the main entrance.

The Good Life is a zero-waste shop on a mission to inspire you to make incremental changes towards living more sustainably. They stock a range of food and household products and cards, gifts and hampers, all without the unnecessary packaging. You can place a click and collect order at their website to pick-up alongside your veg bag and ensure you’ve got all your essentials.

Hillgate Cakery is a fantastic cafe set in the atmospheric surroundings of historic old Stockport town centre. Serving up delicious vegan cakes, brunches and lunches and stocking a great range of vegan cooking essentials from exciting new brands and local suppliers. Collecting your veg bag gives you the perfect excuse for a weekly sweet treat!

Levenshulme Methodist Church is the only surviving Methodist church in Levenshulme with a multicultural congregation meeting every Sunday at 10.45am. The church hosts a number of public events throughout the week and has strong links to the local community.

Our veg lockbox is located in the car park off Woodfold Avenue. You can collect anytime from 11am on Thursday until 5pm on Friday evening when any leftover bags will be donated to a good cause.

Long Boi’s Bakehouse is a women-owned and run neighbourhood bakery in Levenshulme selling an amazing range of baked goods, from breads to pastries to cakes and patisserie, all made in-house. They offer catering for birthdays, weddings and other events. Why not pop-in for a cake and a coffee when you next collect your veg?

The Old Abbey Tap House is more than just a pub; it’s a live music venue and community space. Their weekly community project, Taphouse TV Dinners, offers pay-as-you-feel meals using food that would otherwise go to waste to households in need in the M15 postcode area. Playing host to STEAM MCR radio, music rehearsal spaces, a recording studio, club nights, community events and great food it’s well worth checking out their Instagram to see what’s on when you go to collect your fruit and veg!

We have a veg lockbox in the pub garden. Simply go through the gate to the left of the main pub entrance and the box is immediately to your right.

Set-up in 2000, Hulme Community Garden Centre is a not for profit organic garden centre, cafe and 2 acre space dedicated to nature. As well as selling high-quality and sustainably-sourced plants (many grown in-house) and gardening equipment they have a community spaces available to rent and host numerous events throughout the year. When you collect your veg bag you can pop in for a drink and bite to eat at their Cafe Sorrel, pick up a fresh pot of herbs to grow at home and get some gardening advice.

To collect your veg bag go to the old seed shop straight ahead when you exit the main entrance and shop.

Hot Bed Press is a print workshop owned and operated by printing fanatics. They offer numerous courses, workshops, exhibitions and events throughout the year that you can attend to learn about printmaking or to purchase amazing original prints. Anyone can become a member of Hot Bed Press allowing them to make use of their extensive printing equipment and the expertise of their team. Hot Bed Press has been the home of Veg Box People’s packing operation since 2023 so collecting from here means you’ll get the absolute freshest veg, sometimes within hours of picking.

This collection point operates as an unmanned box. Our wooden lock box is located in the car park on the corner of Cow Lane and Oldfield Road. Upon sign-up you’ll be given a code to unlock the box, so you can collect your veg at any time convenient to you between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evening - but remember, the sooner the fresher!

Goodness Zero Waste is a plastic free shop, selling ethically and sustainably sourced products from food to beauty and household products, toiletries to gifts. They aim to help you make simple changes to live more sustainably and care for our world. The shop also boasts a coffee bar serving up ethically sourced coffee. Why not pop in for a cup why you collect your fruit and veg?

Stretford Public Hall was built for the community in 1878. Since 2015 it has been run by Friends of Stretford Hall, a charitable community benefit society with 800+ members, for the benefit of the local community. They host multiple public events throughout the week, from rock choirs, to community lunches, yoga classes and IT clinics. The hall also has co-working office spaces and artists studios available to rent. ‘Wellbeing Tuesday’ runs every week on our collection day offering various activities dedicated to health and wellbeing. Healthy Spirit is a health shop offering vitamins, supplements, herbal remedies and health foods. Head in for expert advice on wholistic wellness from owner Darre.

You can collect your bag from just inside the shop. Bags are kept on the table in the centre of the shop, just check your name off the list before picking up your bag.

We park our veg delivery van up in Alexandra Park every Tuesday lunchtime for you to collect your fruit and veg from us, as fresh as it gets! We’re located just behind The Pavilion Cafe, opposite the lake for 2 hours each Tuesday.

First Street is home to various offices, restaurants and bars and HOME cinema, theatre and arts centre. The central plaza hosts numerous events throughout the year, from flower and jazz festivals to a calendar of winter events, open to all the public to enjoy.

Our collection point is located in the estate office on Annie Horniman Street just to the right of the entrance to the Q-Park car park. Simply press the buzzer at the door and one of the friendly First Street security team will give you your bag.

Ladybarn Community Hub has been going for over 40 years providing a space and activities for all members of their local community to get involved with. Their mission is to help their community to thrive, be that through increasing the community spirit, working on environmental sustainability projects or helping meet the needs of local people. They run regular weekly groups for all sorts of people, from lunches to choirs, and various community events throughout the year.

We run an unmanned collection box here. To collect your veg simply head through the community hub’s front gate, follow the path left past the community garden and find our lock box behind the building. The gate is locked overnight so you’ll need to collect during their opening hours (listed in the collection times).

Veg Box People started in 2015 with support from the University of Manchester. We’ve been supplying their catering team with organic veg and operating a collection point stall at the main campus ever since. You can now find us in The Drum building at University Place outside The Place Cafe every Tuesday. Pick up a coffee or lunch while collecting your veg from us.

Collect your bag at our Veg Box People stall every Tuesday 11am-3pm, where you can also buy fresh sourdough bread baked by Holy Grain and free range organic eggs. If you miss us on Tuesday, you can collect your bag on Wednesday by heading to the cafe counter and giving your name to a member of staff.

Bridge 5 Mill is Manchester's Centre for Social Change, providing grassroots who work towards positive social change with workspaces and venue hire. The Mill was fully refurbished using reclaimed and recycled materials and was recognised as one of Manchester’s most sustainable buildings in 2001. From time to time The Mill has fantastic community events you can attend, so it's always worth keeping an eye out on their socials.

Your veg bags can be collected from the exhibition space on the ground floor. Just pop in via the front door accessed through their small garden off Beswick Street and say hello to the team at reception.

Patagonia’s Manchester store contains 2 floors of sustainably sourced and manufactured outdoor gear. They regularly host events with local NGOs and organisations promoting a whole range of topics to do with sport, sustainability and climate change. Check out their Instagram page to see what’s coming up. Patagonia also funds a number of social change campaigns and organisations, making it a perfect partner for Veg Box People.You can collect your veg bag from their basement workshop area. Head to the front counter and ask a member of staff if you’re unsure where to go.

Located just off Oxford Road, Sandbar is an independently run vibrant bar and pizza joint with a focus on sustainability in business since 1996. They sell locally brewed beers and fantastic contemporary pizzas using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

Simply head to the bar and speak to one of the members of staff to collect your veg, and why not grab a drink and delicious pizza while you’re there? You won’t regret it!

Open Kitchen, a cafe and bar based in The People’s History Museum, is committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing. They work with organisations across the city to turn food that would otherwise go to waste into delicious meals. They are fully committed to sustainability, sourcing from local suppliers wherever possible, serving their food on recycled plates and providing seating made from reclaimed ocean plastics. Open Kitchen also run a catering business, creating fantastic food using ethically sourced, sustainable ingredients. If you’ve got an event coming up make sure to check them out!

Castlefield Hotel, located next to the iconic Castlefield viaduct, is owned and run by Manchester YMCA, a charity supporting vulnerable young people and the wider local community. The hotel is home to a bar and restaurant as well as the Y Club leisure centre with a gym, exercise studios and swimming pool. When you collect your bag, why not consider becoming a Y Club member and improving your physical health while supporting the work of the YMCA.
