This is a really quick way to use up leftover chard while adding a bit of texture to a meal, or just to enjoy as a healthy snack. You can use this method of cooking with kale and the leaves from cauliflowers.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180℃
  2. Ensure the chard leaves are clean and completely dry before cutting out the tough stems and setting these aside (try our recipe for battered chard stems)
  3. Put the trimmed leaves on a baking tray and coat them in a little oil and cider vinegar
  4. Cook these in the preheated oven for 8 minutes.
  5. Remove the baking tray from the oven and sprinkle the leaves with a little salt. Take the leaves from the baking tray and place on a clean tray or plate to leave to cool and crisp up. Once slightly cooled, the leaves should crisp up and should be served immediately. You can crisp the leaves up again by placing them back into the oven for 2 or so minutes.
